SECRET HISTORY PRESENTS: J. TILLMAN (FLEET FOXES) / PEARLY GATE MUSIC
Perhaps now would be a good spot for a bit of back story, or 'biographical information'. JT moved to Seattle in 2004 after dropping out college where he was studying god-knows-what. Upon moving there he found a job working at a bakery, where he was allowed to record at night before his 4:30AM shift began. This led to a cassette that maybe 20 people heard, one of whom was Seattle legend Damien Jurado. Damien brought Tillman on tour about a year later, where every night he wowed audiences into exclaiming things like, 'Who is this weird mumbly kid' and/or 'Get off the stage.' Tillman would continue to tour through the US and Europe regardless of 'audiences', 'interest' and 'total lack of promotion or booking agencies'.
In late 2007/2008 (ish) Tillman signed with Western Vinyl in the US and Bella Union in the UK and, in 2009, released his least favorite record in his catalog, 'Vacilando Territory Blues'. The following year is kind of a blur.
Doors at 8pm / Ages 18 and up / $10/12 tickets.

Rock Paper Rock presents: HELEN GASSENHEIMER
Birmingham native, Helen Gassenheimer made her song-writing debut in beautiful Brooklyn, New York the summer of 2003 and looks back quite often, actually. It wasn't long before she was adopted by the musical collective Local Correspondents and was playing shows all over the place. Helen was soon joined by her creative Brooklyn-based cohorts Andrea Hendrickson, Bess Leonard-Cahn, Rachel Berk and Thomas Bryan Eaton and the Well-Enough Folk Band was born. Over the next few years Well-Enough gained the respect, admiration, and most importantly- interest in collaboration, from the cozy americana and folk scene in the city.
Her music is serious and homespun. Her delivery is ceaselessly captivating and sincere. Her intuitive melodies and thoughtful composition will never fail to surprise you.

UNWED SAILOR / NATIVE LIGHTS / SHAPES LIKE DINOSAURS
Born in Seattle in 1998 at the tender age of intent, Unwed Sailor is helmed by Johnathon Ford. Pulling towards a bass guitar-oriented sound, the songs he had begun to craft did not fully feel right for Roadside Monument, thus the unbeknownst forming of Unwed Sailor. Not aiming for Unwed Sailor to fall into the regular confines of a typical band, Ford's ever evolving cast and crew has been tirelessly composed over the years of good friends and company. Unwed Sailor has shared the stage with Pedro the Lion, Mary Timony, Low, The Danielson Famile, Sufjan Stevens, Early Day Miners, Minus the Bear, The Advantage, The Starlight Mints, Battles, Mates of State, and Beach House.
“Supergroup” is a word that is sometimes carelessly thrown around on the local level, but one band that has most definitely earned the title is Native Lights. Johnathon Ford, founder of the indie outfit Unwed Sailor, Bryce Chambers of Ester Drang, Aaron Hamby of Callupsie, and Nathan Price of Vandevander.
Doors at 8pm / Ages 18+ / $8.
