Argus Hamilton | 9:15 PM
Who is Argus Hamilton, and why is everybody quoting him?

Meet the funniest topical comedian in America, the man Robin Williams once called "the Will Rogers of the Baby Boom." Argus Hamilton's daily column of jokes on the news, now carried in over 100 newspapers across the United States, is also read and heard by millions on the Internet and on radio stations across the country.

Argus James Hamilton III is the son, grandson and great-grandson of Methodist ministers in the South. A proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma and now based in Los Angeles, Argus brings an unusual perspective to the news from Washington and around the country. "I'm an English Monarchist and a Southern secessionist," Argus says. "Let's see Rush Limbaugh get to the right of that."

Argus Hamilton performs at corporate, political and charity events around the country. When he's in Los Angeles, he can be seen working out the latest material nightly at The Comedy Store in Hollywood.

Argus is regularly quoted by daily newspapers including The San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times, by weekly business papers including the Orange County Business Journal, by Time magazine and by radio personalities including Paul Harvey.

Argus was honored by Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry as the official comedian of the Oklahoma Centennial and appeared with the governor in the 2007 Tournament of Roses Parade.

You can read Argus Hamilton's outrageously funny humor column on the Internet six days a week -- yes, six days a week ("Unbelievable," says Yahoo.com) more >>>

Jeff Garlin | 9:30 PM
Garlin has toured the country as a stand-up, is an alumnus of Chicago's Second City Theatre, and has written and starred in three critically-acclaimed solo shows, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, Uncomplicated, and Concentrated.
Garlin's comic style takes a story-telling approach, exploring his personal foibles and exposing his innermost secrets for all to hear (allowing what the Greeks and Shecky Greene called catharsis.)
Young and Handsome: A Night with Jeff Garlin, showcases him performing to a sold out crowd in Chicago's Second City. Shout! Factory released this DVD special on July 7, 2009. This product was also released as a 10-track CD.
On television, Garlin co-stars and executive produces the critically acclaimed HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm. The show stars Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld. Jeff Garlin co-stars in the show as Larry David's manager.

Bobby Lee | 9:45 PM
Bobby Lee, a native of San Diego, was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps running the family clothing store. But after stints in a local rock band and at the local community college, he was spotted by Frank Burns, the legendary manager of La Jolla’s Comedy Store, and the rest, as they say, is history. Lee rapidly became an in-demand stand-up comic with his unique Korean American perspective and charismatic on-stage personality.

In 1995, comedian Pauly Shore spotted Lee on stage and asked him to open his act in Las Vegas. Lee subsequently met Paulie’s mother, the celebrated owner of the Comedy Store, Mitzi Shore. He became a regular at the club and went on the road with comic Carlos Mencia.

Since joining MADtv in 1999, Lee has become a fan-favorite, known for his unique brand of pain-inducing, physical humor. He has created such memorable original characters as the comically confused film critic “Johnny Gan,” the world’s worst interpreter “Bae Sung;” and hapless warrior the Blind kung Fu Master.” And audiences have loved his takes on such real-world figures as Connie Chung and North Korean President Kim Jong Il.

Lee’s film credits include “Hardbreakers,” “Kickin’ It Old Skool,” “Killer Pad” and “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.” On television Lee has appeared in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Mind of Mencia,” and has performed stand-up on "Late Friday," "Premium Blend" and “The Tonight Show.” He was also the host of this year’s Asian Excellence Awards. more >>>

John Caparulo | 10:15 PM
John Caparulo was born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio (with a 7-year stint in North Canton), and began his stand-up career in 1997. His sharp wit, unique delivery, and affinity for cuss words made him a crowd favorite right off the bat. After graduating from Kent State University, he left behind a lucrative career patching potholes to take his talent to the left coast. There he spent the next four years working the door at the world famous Comedy Store and cutting grass at a local golf course. Cap’s first big break came at the 2003 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, where he impressed the industry observers enough to offer him a sitcom deal. It was then he was able to trade in his weed-whacker for a microphone full-time. He then applied his blue collar work ethic to the stage, where he now performs nearly 365 nights a year. In recent years, Cap’s simple approach to life and comedy has landed him 3 appearances on The Tonight Show, a half-hour special on Comedy Central, and a spot on the Next Generation of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour (DVD in stores NOW!!). In 2008, Cap was featured as one of the four comedians on Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show, which hit theaters in February and is now available on DVD. He also recently finished hosting the first season of MOBILE HOME DISASTER on CMT. In May of 2008, this up-and-coming stand-up recorded his first one-hour DVD called "Meet Cap," which will be distributed by Warner Bros. and will be available very soon! Yes, John Caparulo is living proof that you really can do something with your life even if you don’t wake up before noon!! more >>>

Steve Rannazzisi | 10:30 PM
"Nobody wants to hang around a smart-ass, Stephen."

That's what a Catholic schoolteacher told Stephen Rannazzisi growing up in Long Island New York. Stephen went on to prove her wrong by "hanging out" or "pissing off" many different celebrities on this season of PUNK'D.

Stephen grew up on Long Island, New York and graduated from a SUNY college with a degree in Theater. After graduation, he left Long Island to pursue the only career he was suited for--entertaining. Upon his arrival in the big city, Stephen got a job as a doorman at the world-famous Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard. It was there that he honed his skills amongst some of the most prolific comics in the business, such as Eddie Griffin, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Dice Clay. And after winning over some of the toughest crowds in show business, Stephen would check id's at the door, answer phones in the office, and clean up vomit in the men's room. He also honed his craft of character acting at The Groundlings School and theater. All the hard work has started to pay off as the Hollywood industry has begun to take notice. Stephen was signed by top-level management and soon received his big break appearing as a cast member on MTV's PUNK'D.

"Great job!" said Ashton. "You really nailed it!!"

And, with the respect of his peers and an undying commitment to his craft, the future looks very bright for this talented young performer.

Ari Shaffir | 11:30 PM
Amongst other work, Ari Shaffir is probably most well known for a series of comedy works entitled The Amazing Racist (the title is a play on that of reality television show The Amazing Race). In these shorts the Amazing Racist is seen acting in a manner which is overtly and ironically racist. Shaffir filmed many of his offensive encounters for the DVD, National Lampoon’s Lost Reality. They were then ripped to the internet by hundreds of different nerds and then seen by millions of people. Watching the videos makes many people laugh and many people very angry.
Ari gets death threats at least once a week and loves them all. If you haven’t seen the videos, Google him. And please don’t watch them at work because you’ll get fired. Ari has also been featured on the TBS show Minding the Store, ESPN Classic’s Cheap Seats, The Latino Laugh Festival on SiTV, has made a few appearances on the Opie and Anthony radio show (including the greatest day of radio of all time – The Baby Bird), and you probably have seen him on one of the many national commercials he has done over the years. Ari’s first love is standup, though, and he is a regular at all the major clubs in Los Angeles. For the last few years he has been touring nationally with Joe Rogan. Ari tends to describe his comedy as a puppet show, but way filthier and without the puppets. Ari wrote this biography, so every time it says “Ari did this” or “Ari did that” it’s really Ari writing it about himself. Ari feels like a tool for having done that. Please don’t come to the show if you’re easily offended or if you don’t like hearing Jews tell awful stories about sexual misconduct or if you hate fun. Everyone else, please do come. more >>>

Owen Smith | 11:45 PM
Watching Owen Smith on stage is like watching a conductor command an orchestra. His compelling 6’5” frame combined with his truthful, primal and unapologetic approach to his craft gives him license to lead his audiences on journeys they may not normally take with other comedians. His fresh takes on race, politics, relationships, and society has critics using adjectives like: “witty”, “clever”, and “brilliant” to describe his performances. Television and film star, Terry Crews (White Chicks, Everybody Hates Chris) says, “The future of comedy is here, and that future is Owen Smith!” Tichina Arnold star of Everybody Hates Chris believes, “Owen is going to be huge one day!” And sitcom legend, Ernest Thomas (What’s Happening, Everybody Hates Chris) says, “I was there when Sam Kinison, Eddie Murphy, and Jim Carrey all became superstars, and Owen is in that league!”

Owen Smith has multiple roles on the hit Chris Rock sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris”. His national McDonald’s “Cha-cha Slide” commercial has become one of the most popular McDonald’s commercials to date! Even Oprah Winfrey loves it. And as if that’s not enough, last fall, Owen filmed his very own one-hour Comedy Special “Anonymous” for TV and DVD. Other noted television appearances include: Crossing Jordan, Monk, Gilmore Girls, Premium Blend, Star Search, Latino Laugh Festival: The Show, HBO Comedy Minutes, Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, The Orlando Jones Show, National Lampoon’s Funny Money, NBC’s Friday Night, and BET’s Comic View. more >>>

Shawn Halpin | 12:00 AM (Sat Nov. 14)
With the appeal of a teddy bear and the soul of a frat boy, Shawn Halpin has made a successful debut into the world of comedy. His stand up style is full of honesty, making him the kind of comedian that anyone would love to have a beer with after the show.

Shawn grew up in a single parent household in the outskirts of Dallas, Texas ( which would later prove to be hilarious). He started behind the scenes at one of the hottest comedy clubs in the country, as a door guy, where he worked his way through the trenches and landed himself the coveted title of house emcee. As the house emcee Shawn worked with some of the biggest names in the business, Louie C.K., Pablo Francisco, Jim Gaffigan, and Mitch Hedberg among a long list of others.

With topics that range from being raised without a father, to his life as a Marine, where the “higher-ups” deemed his comedy inappropriate for the military, as well as his problems with commitment and abandonment. Shawn’s stand up comedy appeals to everyone that is not easily offended. Honesty of life can be hard to swallow. Shawn’s appeal is genuine and is sure to entertain audiences for years to come, as he is already doing so across the country.

For anyone that wants to see a comedian that talks about topics you’ve heard about before, then this is not your man. Shawn was a regional finalist for NBC’s Last Comic Standing II, winner of Uncle Clyde’s Comedy Competition, a finalist in the Texas Comedy Festival, as well as one of the most requested comics on Phat Tuesday, the Urban night at the Improv in Dallas. The goal of Shawn Halpin’s comedy is to entertain an audience with his real opinions on his life that are not censored or sugar coated.

Within a year after moving to Los Angeles, Shawn became a Regular at the Comedy Store where Pauly Shore saw his talent and invited him to open for Pauly on the road. Shawn can be regularly seen at the World Famous Comedy Store. more >>>

Chris D'Elia | 12:15 AM (Sat Nov. 14)
Chris was 16 the first time he performed stand-up comedy. He would act up in church, so the pastor told him he could do some time on stage afterwards if he behaved himself. Well he didn't behave, but was still allowed to get on stage in front of everyone.

Although his church performance was a success, it would be years later that D'Elia actually started a career in stand-up comedy. East coast born, West coast raised, Chris found himself in Los Angeles, on stage anywhere he could get up-- from local coffee shops to various hole-in-the-wall dive bars. Performing every night of the week, he quickly became a regular at all the clubs in Hollywood. Chris's silly, physical humor is what sets him apart from other comedians. Chris explains, "I never really feel like just standing there and telling jokes. I wanna move around. In fact, it's hard for me to write a joke where I don't end up on the ground for some reason. Hey... at least that way I know no comics will steal my shit. Too many bruises."

His comedy has an emphasis on characters, maybe because of his background in acting. Chris has guest starred on such shows as "Monk" and "Boston Legal", among others.

In 2008 Chris toured the United States with fellow comedian JoKoy. In 2009 you can catch Chris's act on Showtime's new upcoming series "Live Nude Comedy". more >>>
