Black Entertainment Television’s ComicView kicked off its 14th hilarious season on this week with new host Sheryl Underwood. Sheryl’s ability to use humor to drive home her sometimes controversial point-of-view is what makes her one of the funniest and topical standup comics today.

Like so many Americans, Sheryl was deeply touched by the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the Gulf Coast region Underwood, who spent several weeks in New Orleans earlier this summer taping Comicview, immediately lent her support to national relief efforts appearing on BET’s S.O.S. (Saving OurSelves) Hurricane Relief Telethon and in Steve Harvey’s Saving Lives With Laughter All-Star Comedy event at The Great Western Forum in Los Angeles.
