Resurrection is Stella Luce’s third release since their inception in August of 2008. The album features the debut of Sean Speer on percussion with Stella Luce. Brett Schreiber, who founded the band with Alana Rolfe (viola, vocals) added to his original role as bass player with vocals writing beats and loops for the new music. For sale at the release show at Hodi's will be a collection of nine new Stella Luce songs each accompanied by a video and an original art piece from a Fort Collins artist (all on one flash drive for $10). The community of musicians and artists involved include: Alana Rolfe (Stella Luce/Fierce Bad Rabbit), Brett Schreiber (Stella Luce/P@4P), Sean Speer (Stella Luce/P@4P), Tomas Herrera (filmmaker/actor/GNU gallery/FBR), Jayme DeLoss (FoCo Girls Gone Derby, Coloradoan), Tara Mason (local interior designer and artist), Brandton Manshel (GNU Gallery, local artist), Rachel Herrera (Ohana Mountain Ranch, local artist), Page Sanderson (Hodis’ Art Curator, local artist), and Susana Dominguez (Calvin Pepper, ATrain Marketing, local artist), Will Schlatmann (The Widow’s Bane, local photographer), Austin Barker (local artist), Darren Mahuron (Opiate Gallery, local artist/photographer), and Greth Ligon (local photographer/artist/musician).
The idea for creating a multi-media release including not only multiple forms of art, but with multiple artists expands from the reality of living in the art community that is Fort Collins. All of the people involved have created something special for this album. Each of the visual artists will create an original piece of art for each song and a print of those works will appear on your flashdrive along with the audio Stella Luce tracks and the video files that accompany those tracks. The original artwork will be auctioned off at the show. The proceeds will go directly to that artist.
