SECRET HISTORY PRESENTS: VOXTROT / PALOMAR / T-MINUS BAND
Thursday Jun 28, 2007 9:00 PM

ALL AGES ... With one foot in the library and the other on the dancefloor, Voxtrot combine classic 60‘s pop (think Love and Left Banke) with the heady, subversive sounds of 80‘s Britain and still come out ahead of their time. Originally conceived as an outlet for vocalist Ramesh Srivastava to record a handful of songs he had written, it soon became apparent that Voxtrot was meant to be more than a home recording project. The band quickly rose to popularity in its home of Austin, TX through now-legendary house party performances and capacity-filled club shows as home-made CDRs circulated, the band was quickly snatched up by Beggars Banquet. The gritty and infectious female fronted NYC power pop quartet, Palomar, open the show. Tickets for this show are $8 ADV and $10 at the door. This show is 18 and up/

Palomar | 9:00 PM
From Pitchfork Media: Brooklyn's Palomar makes indie-pop sound like it wandered through a cloud of gamma radiation and wound up with superpowers: lurid muscles, torn jeans, the whole nine. Rachel Warren's singing is simple and tonally pure, with the same mix of velvety sweetness and skyscraping grandeur that makes boys swoon for Jenny Lewis and Tracyanne Campbell... has one quality that distinguishes Palomar from their precious peers-- the urge to rock the fuck out. more >>>

Voxtrot | 9:00 PM
Never content to give the people too much at once, adorable Austineers Voxtrot-- who'll finally give up their eponymous LP debut in the wake of, like, a hundred great EPs-- have thrown a few tour dates on the back end of their previously announced summer stint. It ain't much, but as we've come to know and love about our Voxtrot, any stinginess in quantity is more than made up in the quality department. more >>>

T-Minus Band | 9:00 PM
T-minus Band began as a one-man production in a home studio in 1999. Troy T wrote the songs and played the instruments (except in a few instances) on the first two albums, "Technostalgia" and "Four Legs to Three". In 2003 he brought in band members to facilitate live performances. They have completed a third album, "The Morning After", which combines the band's rock sensibility with the previous albums' eclectic pop sounds. T-minus Band played South Park Music Festival 2005, SXSW 2006, Atlantis 2006 as well as local shows. Music by T-minus Band has been used in 3 local films and in a nationally televised infomercial. The title track from the latest album, "The Morning After", will be included on Magnet Magazine's New Music Sampler CD Vol. 46 in June 2007.

"Things picked up at night as the parties settled indoors at the more intimate Fairplay Hotel and at the Park Bar, and the T-minus Band, Happy Bullets, and many others treated those folks to solid performances." - PopMatters.com (on T-minus Band's
