April Rucker | 9:00 PM
Falling in love with music was an obvious fate for songstress and Nashville native April Rucker. As a child, the R&B artist was surrounded by a musical family who helped inspire her love for music. The vibes coming from listening to her family’s band rehearse in her bedroom were infectious. April pursued a formal education in music by enrolling in Nashville School of the Arts. There she honed her craft, focusing on a vast variety of music and making history as one of the school’s first solo vocalist of the Pop Ensemble Band. Through the years April went on to sing with various groups including R&B trio AlizA where she discovered her talent for songwriting. In 2004 April became a member of the Soul-Funk-Jazz band Monody that helped expose her as a solo artist in Nashville's urban music community. She eventually found joy in singing background for other artists including Grammy and AMA award winning artist Yolanda Adams at the 33rd Annual Dove Awards. She has also traveled to Europe where she performed and worked with young vocalist at the Karmoy Gospel Festival in Norway.
Stepping away from the comforts of supporting other artists, April has come in to her own with hopes to do what she believes she was born to do-share her talent and music with the world. Her smooth seductive style, influenced by artists such as Jill Scott and Amel Larrieux, sends listeners to a place some only visit in their dreams. Though her soft, sweet soprano voice can lull partakers into a world of pure tranquility, she wows crowds with intensity and strength as well. It’s the best of both worlds in a unique blend of Pop, Rhythm and Blues. Her writing is an amalgamation of personal experience and fantasy; ensuring music that’s relatable. Currently April is in the process of recording her debut album Here I Stand with the help of One Staj Music Group. “April Rucker is an original. Not only can her voice move mountains, but she is a brilliant writer and arranger. She blends her gifts to concoct her own unique stew that no one else can duplicate. She is a force to be reckoned with...and one that we will definitely hear more of in years to come,” comments Contemporary Soul artist Tim Dillinger. April’s found home on the many stages of her hometown “Music City USA” performing in venues such as B.B. King’s Club, Gaylord Entertainment’s General Jackson, and Gibson Showcase among others. “It’s a personal, intimate thing sharing my music with an audience,” April says. “I feel like I’m reading my diary aloud, but God blessed me with the gift of music and creativity. I’m going to share it. It’s what I live for.”

Lo Carter | 9:45 PM
Lo Carter is a southern belle hailing from Atlanta, GA that enjoys writing and singing about love-life experiences with a classic soul twist. A true blend of R&B/Soul, Lo Carter puts pen to pad and lets the words and melodies come from deep within. One listen to "Suga" or "Let Go" and you can hear that passion and soul permeate the speakers. Her lyrics exude a playful maturity any age group can relate to and a sensuality and confidence any man or woman can identify with.
After humble beginnings in Atlanta, GA singing in the youth church choir at the age of four, Lo went on to study music in high school and college, playing the saxophone, trombone, and singing in the chorus. Lo's father made sure she was heavily versed in Motown/Stax records, reggae, jazz and gospel quartet music, while her brother helped to develop her ear for mainstream music, hip-hop, dancehall and R&B. Her own interest in alternative music, classic rock, dance and pop music rounded out her ear for "good feelin" tunes. Her destiny and future career were inevitable.
Lo eventually moved to Nashville, TN to further her education and--unbeknownst to her--develop her musical talents. She gained studio experience collaborating lyrics and penning vocal arrangements for local artists while soaking her feet on the many stages of the "chit'lin circuit" doing cover gigs. Lo spent the most time and formed the tightest bond with the infamous Band 24/7, but could also be seen with great bands Burnin' Las Vegas, Familiar Faces, The Roots of Soul and the Jimmy Church Band.
Lo has backed many independent artists: Damien Horne, Joe E. Rich, Maureen Murphy, Miss Jackie Wilson, Miss April Rucker, Michael Inge, Darnell Levine, Terri Brinegar, Brit Savage, Nathan Marcuzzi, Jonathan Austin, JJ Lee, and Myshel to name a few. Moreover, her fun loving personality and energy on stage eventually led to performances backing Marvin Sapp at the 2008 Stella Awards, Angela Wimbush, Phil Perry, and the Joe Johnson band at the 92Q Music Festival and some great performances at Nashville's finest live music venues. Less than two months after her debut as a solo artist, Lo Carter was the opening act for Anthony Hamilton, performing to an audience of over 1,000 people...
...and Lo Carter’s music moves people. What kind of movement you ask? Check out the music and see for yourself! Her solo debut,"The EP", scheduled for online release Aug. 25th! "Suga" and "Let Go" from "The EP" currently in indie rotation and on internet radio. Call your radio station and request "Suga" today!

Mike Hicks | 11:25 PM
Energetic, spontaneous, and passionate are all words commonly used to describe the on-stage presence of singer, songwriter, and producer, Mike Hicks. However, off stage, the personality of Mike Hicks has been described as reserved, introverted, and even shy. A glimpse into the life of Mike Hicks renders somewhat of an explanation into what seems to be his dual persona. Currently residing right outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Brandon Hicks was born in Warner Robins, Georgia to loving parents who would carefully and gracefully nurture his development and growth. A childhood rooted in spirituality explains his love for and devotion to his Christian faith. Surrounded by a vast array of musical genres, Mike would find himself strongly drawn to the music of Stevie Wonder, The Winans, and Commissioned. While the majority of his childhood and adolescence was spent pursuing dreams of being a basketball star, at the age of 14 he was challenged by his mother to write a song for a children’s ministry. Though Mike had always shown a love for writing, this single challenge would be a turning point in his life. Emotionally broken by the painful split of his parents when he was 16, Mike found solace in drowning himself in music, oftentimes cutting everything and everyone else out. This process was the beginning of the lyrical transparency that has become his trademark. Mentored by award winning producers and local musicians alike, Mike would grow in his craft and move to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to pursue music as a career. After years of growing as a musician, writer, and producer, he stepped out in 2008 and began doing shows as a solo artist. Though initially, he didn’t have a desire to be an artist, his frustration with music drove him to the point of not only doing shows, but writing, producing, and recording his first EP, “Simply For Me: The Acoustic Sessions EP” in July of 2008. Characterized by a magnetic stage presence and a love for getting lost in the moment, Mike is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
