Johnathan Sexton and the Big Love Choir | 9:00 PM
Jonathan Sexton enjoyed a long stint in the college rock bands Oversoul, the Redhouse Project, and redhouse during Knoxville, TN's early 21st century music scene. Jonathan helped found the heartbreaking Whiskey Scars, which led to exactly that. After an extended break from profuse writing and performing, an abyss of personal turbulance, and the successful acquisition of a master's degree and a "real job", Jonathan has returned to writing and performing with a new voice, a new band, and a new mentality. "Music was my identity, and then was gone. I was still writing, playing shows and things but it became about money, how much I was playing, how many cities I had reached, and how many people were coming.", Sexton says, "I took a trip I discovered some things, I remembered some things in Central America, and I remembered some things in my son's eyes. It brought me back to my roots, who I am and what I exist for, it is to share and express the glory of the most high strength, the source of all hope, love, acceptance and forgiveness. I am merely a recipricol, a hose, and a tool for the One Love to share itself with itself." This new vibe and message is plainly expressed in the lyrics of the new abum "Big Love", and can be felt in the conviction Sexton's voice. Sexton says "It is nice to play again, it is nice to be free of the tyranny the financial component plays in the music business, it aids in focusing on the vision of the music, the spirit of the songs, and the integrity of the message. This is all for fun now, it's about love now, not survival, and that freedom is what opened up the door to all this material, after being closed so long by fear, joy reigns supreme." "It is exciting to see what can happen with no expectation and no fear. So much of the world is run by fear, so many of our decisions are fear based, but there is no fear here, not in this music, not in this band, here joy reigns supreme." Sexton will be joined by Bryan Garvey and Dave "The Animal" Campbell on stage Live Saturday, April 5th at the Preservation Pub, sharing their joy. By Rose Cortez

Wrong Way: A Tribute to Sublime | 9:45 PM
Wrong Way was formed in February of 2005 by members of the local music scene in Athens, GA. While each of those members was already in one or more of their own original projects, it was their goal to create a Sublime tribute band solely as a side project; one that would enable them to perform in and around town a few times a month, have a good time, and hopefully get a few drinks out of the bargain. It soon became clear though that this music was far too popular to keep the band in only one town. Within 2 months of it's inception, Wrong Way began performing shows all over the Southeast and today the band is playing more shows than ever!
