Tompkins Square Recording Artist Charlie Louvin and the Smokin' Guns w/ Bloodshot Recording Artist The Dex Romweber Duo!!!
The term "living legend" gets thrown around quite a bit, but it actually applies to Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin. The magical harmonies and depth of feeling found on Louvin Brothers recordings of the 50's and 60's inspired a new generation of musicians, firmly establishing the Louvins' stature as one of the most influential duos in country music history. "Dexter Romweber was and is a huge influence on my music. I owned all of his records as a teenager, and was thrilled at the fact that we were able to play together recently on tour. His attitude towards music is remarkable. And his songwriting, along with his love of classic American music from the south, be it rockabilly, country or R&B, is one of the best kept secrets of the rock n roll underground."- Jack White (White Stripes)

Share This Event Billy Joe Shaver w/ Jonny Corndawg
Shaver is truly one of the most respected living figures in American music today. Johnny Cash called him "my favorite songwriter." (His songs have been recorded by Cash as well as Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, The Allman Brothers and Bobby Bare.) The Washington Post noted that "when the country outlaws were collecting their holy writings, Billy Joe Shaver was carving out Exodus."

Get down with Eoto! Consisting of Michael Travis and Jason Hann the duo mixes the organic sounds of live drums, bass and guitar through a variety of programs and gadgets to create a style of music that is more likely found in a dance club, then a live music theater. What sets EOTO apart from other artists in this emerging genre is how the music is created. While some artists may spend hours pre-mixing samples and elements of music for their live show, EOTO uses nothing pre-recorded, giving them the ability to approach each song with on-the-spot spontaneity and 100% live improvisation.

Share This Event Land of Talk
Montreal-based musical innovator Elizabeth Powell, has been banging out "Anti Folk Basement Rock" since the ripe old age of fourteen. Between gigging around Ontario and Quebec, she recorded the EP belle epoque, which she released the summer before heading off to Concordia University in Montreal. The Music program was too constrictiing for the young singer-songwriter and she left shool to practice music on her own terms. Unhappy with every project she joined Powell finally rediscovered Bucky and thus Land of Talk was born. It wasn't until after a long line of bass players (Blake Markle, Sage Reynolds, Tim Kramer) that Chris joined the band creating the perfect chemical trio.

Share This Event Works Progress Administration featuring Glen Philips(Toad the Wet Sprocket), Sean Watkins(Nickel Creek), and Luke Bulla(Lyle Lovett) with Tony Furtado
Works Progress Administration takes its name from FDR’s 1939 New Deal initiative, which put millions to work making buildings, bridges, theater, art and music. The original WPA was rooted in the values of community and creativity, and helped to keep the fire of human dignity burning through the darkest years of the Great Imposters. In this time when the collective spirit is once again in need, WPA looks forward to serving you in your community.
