Day Of Fire w/ Halo Stereo
Ultimately, though, Day of Fire's true strength is their sincerity, honesty and ability to grab audiences by the heart. "We have something to say. It's about love," Brown says. "We all go through dark times, but we can go through them together – that's what rock & roll is about to us."

Tortoise w/ Disappears
TORTOISE RELEASED BEACONS OF ANCESTORSHIP JUNE 23RD ON THRILL JOCKEY. THE FIRST FULL-LENGTH OF NEW MATERIAL IN FIVE YEARS. The great majority of artists spend their formative years, if not their entire careers, working to shake off the gravitational pull of their predecessors, and the many masters and masterpieces that came before them. Rare indeed is the artist who outgrows their early influences, and instead become one of the markers by which other groups are measured. Almost alone among bands of the last two decades, Tortoise is a group that resists easy metaphors and analogies, who can be described as sounding like only themselves and no one else. Twenty years after its founding, the band's signature and singularly inimitable sound-a fluid intersection of dub, dance, jazz, techno, rock, and classical minimalism, with no part overwhelming or dominating the whole-remains an American and international original.

Unknown Hinson
Looking somewhat like Dracula's nasty little brother who spent some hard years drinking and working as a carnival barker for a second-rate freak show, Unknown Hinson translates that vibe to his style of country and western-tinged psychobilly. Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, this red-necked crooner gained regional popularity with a self-produced television show in 1992 and soon was touring nationwide, wowing audiences with his outrageous and campy, white-trash persona and freewheeling, sleazy tone. Hinson’s most recent CD release, “Target Practice”, melds weepy twang and searing guitar riffs and lyrics that speak of love-gone-bad and the dark side of the honky-tonk lifestyle. Raucous, theatrical and over-the-top, Unknown Hinson isn’t just for the trailer park set anymore!

Kyle Andrews w/ Madi Diaz and The Silver Seas
Here is what people are saying about Kyle latest.
“Real Blasty is an upbeat album for sad people who just want to dance. A lesser artist could get weighed down by the broody lyrics covering unrequited love, insecurities and general enui. But Andrews pulls it off by pairing his angst with bright electro-pop rhythms and irresistible hooks.”
- Tamara Vallejos, NPR.ORG (Nov 07, 2008)

Akron/Family w/ Warpaint and H.P. Witchcraft
Given the critical and fan acclaim enjoyed by the somewhat like-minded post-hippie favorites Animal Collective, one could argue that Brooklyn's Akron/Family may be next in line for a pop culture breakthrough. Both rely on rich melodies carrying upbeat if vaguely inscrutable lyrics and each delivers a style-hopping live show rich with improvisation and an exuberant, communal spirit.

Vetiver w/ Scout Niblett and Caitlin Rose
Tight Knit is the fourth full-length album from Vetiver--singer/songwriter Andy Cabic's ever-evolving musical home base. Luminous and surprising, Tight Knit unfolds like a road trip down Highway 1, towards Cabic's home in San Francisco. It represents a summation of the different styles and directions heard on past Vetiver releases, while it introduces some unexpected twists.
"I think I was able to make the most of the different moods of each song," Andy confirms. "Several of the songs have been staples of Vetiver's live show for some time in much the same form as they appear on this recording. Other songs were given a last polishing in the studio. And a few songs were radically reworked from the way they were performed on the road."
"There are songs here that allude to elements of everything I’ve done so far, and songs that have something which heretofore I maybe only hinted at."

Roger Creager
For more than a decade, Roger Creager built a reputation on his distinctive brand of hard-core, rabble-rousing Texas Country music, on his rich, full-bodied voice that can carry a tune for miles, and on his exceptional ability to work thousands of Texans into a rabid frenzy with his voice and guitar, in the great concert tradition of Jerry Jeff Walker and Robert Earl Keen. Along the way, he's been writing some mighty fine instant classics about family heirlooms, fields of bluebonnets, and late night trips to Mexico. Four albums, hundreds of thousands of road miles, and an ever-expanding fan base later, Here It Is has Roger Creager laying his cards on the table with thirteen songs that are arguably his best batch yet.
