Jubilee Community Arts: RB Morris w/ Hector Qirko | 8:00 PM
CD Release and James Agee Tribute
Strongly inspired by the Beat poets and a range of musical influences and genres, RB has both reflected and defined a distinctive Knoxville subculture in the course of a more than thirty year career as recording artist, songwriter, poet, playwright and performer. He’ll be accompanied by his longtime collaborator and friend the renowned Hector Qirko. He has a new and long awaited CD in hand, Spies Lies and Burning Eyes. This concert is a part of the three-week James Agee Centennial celebration, and RB will present a tribute to the Pulitzer Prize winning author who grew up just down the street from the Laurel Theater. RB will be playing new and old favorites that he has taken around the world and brings back to his hometown pulpit at the Laurel Theater. Always a special performance, and this is one very special.
The Laurel Theater is located on the corner of 16th and Laurel Avenue in the historic Fort Sanders neighborhood of Knoxville near the UT campus. For additional information call (865) 522-5851 or email concerts @ jubileearts.org.
