An evening with MARCIA BALL
The simple mention of a Louisiana or Texas roadhouse conjures up images of a crowded dancehall filled wall-to-wall with rabid music fans rocking to a hotter-than-hot band playing a smoldering blend of swampy R&B, jumping blues and heart-wrenching ballads. Pianist/vocalist/songwriter Marcia Ball brings that spirit to every concert she plays and every song she records. Her music is mixed with equal parts simmering soul fervor and two-fisted piano pounding. Join us in welcoming her back to the Melting Point tonight! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for dinner and drinks. Please arrive early for limited dinner seating.

Special double-header with the Rick Fowler Band & the Strawberry Flats
Join us for a Double Headliner blues and rock show with The Rick Fowler Band and Strawberry Flats.
Strawberry Flats are a top-notch classic rock powerhouse featuring John Keane (guitar and vocals), Dean Quinter (drums), Tim "Drawbar" White (keyboards), and Scott Sanders (bass and vocals). Strawberry Flats was created in 1985 and took an 11 year hiatus between gigs until the last two or three years. Since then, they have been performing all over with their sizzling versions of tunes by Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Santana, The Beatles, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Bubble Puppy, and tons of others.
Blues-rock guitarist and vocalist Rick Fowler recorded the "Back On My Good Foot" album in 2008. Rick will be joined by Tom Ryan on bass, Sherry Joyce on vocals, and members of Strawberry Flats.
If you like soaring guitars, hot Hammond organ, and the drive of an unbeatable rhythm section, this is the night for you!

Female Songwriters in the Round with Caroline Aiken, Marty Winkler & Jean Spencer
Three of Georgia's finest female singer-songwriters -- Caroline Aiken, Jean Spencer and Marty Winkler --- share a stage for the first time, taking turns performing songs that express their distinctive takes on life and love. Their genre-bending songs run an emotional gamut, from heartbreaking drama to wily comedy.
Each has more than three decades' performing experience, and each has released multiple albums -- most recent's Jean's "Old Magnolia," Marty's "Under Your Heart" and Caroline's "Mama, Are We There Yet?"
The roster of artists the three women have worked with is impressive and extensive. They have shared stages or studios with, just to name a few, the Indigo Girls, John Keane, Bonnie Raitt, Sara McLachlen and Loudon Wainwright III.

An Evening with Strawberry Flats
Originally formed in 1986, after John Keane left Phil & The Blanks, the "Flats" play psychedelic tunes from 1967 - 1972 by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Cream, Steppenwolf, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and the Beatles. Strawberry Flats was started as a fun cover band to pay tribute to the psychedelic music of that era. The band also performs some oddball one-hit wonders like "Hot Smoke and Sassafrass" by Bubble Puppy. Overall it's a lot louder and more testosterone driven than the Blanks stuff. Strawberry Flats consists of veteran local musicians John Keane on vocals and guitar, Tim White on keyboards, Scott Sanders on bass and backing vocals, and Deane Quinter on drums. Come re-live the late 60's/early 70's once again at The Melting Point! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for dinner and drinks.
