THE MACHINE: A PINK FLOYD EXPERIENCE | 10:00 PM
THE MACHINE, America’s premier Pink Floyd experience, has forged a 20 year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating a legacy all their own. Over the years, The Machine has touched the hearts and souls of many, selling out clubs and theatres across North America, Central America, Europe and the Middle East. They have also appeared at renown music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riverbend, and Rock of Ages in Stuttgart, Germany and continue to expand their fanbase exponentially every year.
The New York based band focuses on making every show an authentic Floydian experience for their fans. Known for performing a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16 album repertoire, (complete with faithful renditions of well known hits as well as obscure gems), The Machine’s stellar musicianship, dramatic lighting, multi-media accompaniments, and passionate delivery of inventive setlists sets them above and beyond the rest.
In the classic tradition, The Machine explores collective improvisation paralleling and even rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd mentality. Their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays continues in the spirit of the later Floyd lineups of the1980’s. The band is also known for recreating entire albums as a part of their show, accepting requests from fans, and their newest A to Z approach in which one song is played for every letter of the alphabet. All in all, every step on the timeline can be traced at a Machine concert.
In 2004, “Two Nights at the Keswick” was released as a DVD/CD, archiving the band’s bi-annual residency at this historic venue. Their next release, “Unplugged”, (2006) captures a special acoustic performance at B.B. King’s in New York City featuring rare Syd Barrett solo material in addition to deep cuts from early Floyd albums. Currently, a new project is in the works involving a recent European tour. Look for this new release sometime in early 2008.
The members of The Machine include founding members Todd Cohen (drums) and Joe Pascarell (guitar, vocals), with long time stagemate Ryan Ball (bass, vocals) , and newly aquired Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals).
