Get to know the optional settings in the Basic Info tab

When creating an event, each tab of the Event Wizard has options to tailor your event to your specific needs.  Let’s cover the check boxes in the Basic Info tab.

The check boxes in the Basic Info tab allow you to further customize the date and time information you communicate to your audience as well and the audience to whom you communicate.

Override Date With Text: Most commonly used with multi-day events, this setting will replace the date and time display on your public-facing events.  Rather than a simple display of the Date & Time settings chosen from the drop down options above, you can specify an extended or more specific time such as, “Friday June 3rd – Sunday June 5th.”  Or, “Dinner begins at 5:30 pm ||  Show begins at 7:00 pm.”

Doors Open: Specify when your venue will open before your event, or specify when boarding begins for your train ride.  When you check the box, the “Doors Open” text becomes editable.  You can change this text to “Seating begins,” “Boarding starts,” or “Please arrive.”  This helps your patrons plan more efficiently and helps prevent Will Call and boarding lines from backing up as your event is scheduled to begin.

Unlisted Event: This setting prevents your event from displaying on your public site.  Patrons can still access tickets online through the direct event link.  Best used for private events with a specific guest list, this setting can also be used to hide internal events used for employee gatherings, accounting purposes, anything that requires active ticket sales without public access.
